The NPC is sharing with you a petition about the Future of Pharmacy. On the below link you can email your local MP and ask them to support local pharmacies.
It only takes a few minutes and will be a massive boost to the voice of overstretched pharmacy teams.
We want to do all we can to support pharmacy teams and ensure no healthcare professional faces violence or abuse. Pharmacies have the potential to do so much to help deal with care backlogs. But this can only happen if we have the support of the Government.
Our local pharmacies are under significant strain. Due to funding pressures since 2016, 639 pharmacies have closed in England alone. This link will also invite your MP to join the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Pharmacy and their event focused on supporting local pharmacies.
If you are able to take a minute to click the link and email your MP it will help us have even more impact.
The letter to your MP reads as follows
I am writing to you as a constituent to ask if you will lend your support to local pharmacies by attending an upcoming event in parliament focused on the huge potential they have for tackling care backlogs and delivering better primary care. The event will take place on 1st November 2022 between 15:00-16:00, RSVP by email to APPG Pharmacy contact@pharmacyappg.co.uk
Local pharmacies are the front door to the NHS. They are one of the only places you can see a healthcare professional in a few short minutes. Pharmacies kept their doors open throughout the pandemic offering vital face-to-face support and medicines. They have clearly demonstrated their potential to play an even greater role in our healthcare. The profession is clear, they have the skills to help tackle backlogs and improve access to primary care. However, to do that they need support because they are facing significant funding pressures. Since 2016, 639 pharmacies have been lost across England alone. At this event there will be a number of ways parliamentarians can support and there will be an opportunity to hear from frontline professionals.
As my local MP, I hope you will consider representing pharmacy teams in your constituency in Parliament by attending the event on 1st November 2022 between 15:00 and 16:00 - RSVP by email to APPG Pharmacy contact@pharmacyappg.co.uk Even if you can only join for a small part of the meeting your presence will make the voice of local pharmacies louder.
Yours Sincerely,
