About the webinar -

The future is undoubtedly digital and the NPC is keen to help older people connect online.

But hundreds of thousands still do not use the internet for a variety of reasons. Some, because they cannot afford a laptop, or the cost of broadband or online security. Others are afraid of internet scams. Or, they may simply need training to use the technology – and for that there is definitely free help.

However, research shows that some older people simply don’t want, or cannot be bothered to learn how to use a computer or the internet.

Yet, by 2025 we may all need to have broadband if we want to use our home phones, as that is when the UK’s telephone network switches to digital.

Our webinar asks how we protect the right of every older person to a choose the way they communicate – say, by phone or letters, as well as email – when businesses, government and the NHS increasingly push for online-only services?

Join us to hear about the issues - and the solutions - to achieving Connections for All, with a panel of speakers including Caroline Abrahams, Charity Director of Age UK, and Dr Jennifer Bute, a retired GP and founder of the charity Glorious Opportunity.
